Landorus, known in Japan as ランドロス (Landlos), is a Legendary Ground/Flying-type Pokémon. It is always male. It forms a trio with Tornadus and Thundurus as The Forces of Nature. Landorus also doubles as the master of said trio.

Thundurus can switch between Incarnate Forme and Therian Forme when the Reveal Glass is used. It's unknown which Forme is its true form.

Landorus' Incarnate Forme is based on the kami of fertility, Inari. Its appearance has drawn inspiration from genies.

The appearance of its Therian Forme draws inspiration from predatory animals like tigers or other large cats. It may also draw inspiration from the White Tiger, or from Tezcatlipoca or Tepeyollotl.

Name OriginEdit

Both Landorus and Landlos may be derived from land and Aeolus/Aiolos, ruler of the winds in Greek mythology.
